Eco Adventures
EcoTours seems to be all the rage now. We ecology-minded Americans want to take our conservationist conscience along with us everywhere – even on vacation. Happily, many locations are willing to indulge this need at a reasonable price. The top of the list is Costa Rica. Lush and beautiful, Costa Rica boasts plenty of natural beauty and adventure. Some hotels in range of its famous rain forests go for as little as $124 per night. For more information, go to www.Visit CostaRica.com or call 1-866-CostaRica.

Cruise the Caribbean
Have you always wanted to go on a cruise, but thought it was a little pricey? If so, now is the time to book your sea adventure. The Carnival Glory is offering a seven night Western Caribbean cruise this summer for $499. That pricing is unheard of and surely will not last long. The ship departs from Port Canaveral, Florida and stops in Key West, Belize City, and Costa Maya. If you have not cruised before, this is a must-try. Cruise vacations are the best!

Doing Disneyland
If this is your year to do Disneyland, a great deal is waiting for you. You can stay at Knotts Berry Farm Resort for just $76 a night! The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and a shuttle service to Disneyland, plus it is located across the street from Soak City Waterpark. For more about this deal go to www.tripres.com or call 800-255-0372 and reference discount code 13994.

House Swap with a Friend
Do you want to have a really inexpensive change of scenery? Swap houses with a close friend who lives in another city. You will have all the comforts of home with free lodgings. You will also have an expert tour guide. Just have your friend leave you a list of all the must-see sites, places to eat, and other fun things to do. Leave your friend a scrapbook of your family’s adventures, and you do the same.

Save Time and Money Traveling with Infants
My husband and I love to travel the world and did not allow our budding family to put an end to that. But traveling with infants did require some planning. We took children under the age of one to Hong Kong, China, and Spain. Based on that experience, I strongly recommend taking the following in an extra suitcase, even if it means paying a little extra for baggage:

  1. Your brand of formula in pre-made liquid form. It costs more than powder, but you save time, and you know it is completely sanitary so you do not have to worry about your child getting sick.
  2. Medicines. Pack Children's Motrin, Children's Tylenol, and an antibiotic to which you can add bottled water should your child develop an ear infection. Trust me. You do not want to be running around the airport in Frankfort, Germany on a lay-over looking for a doctor and a pharmacy for your six-month-old who developed a fever of 104 degrees somewhere over the Atlantic. This is an expensive and nerve-racking way to begin your vacation.
  3. Diapers. Bring more than what you think you will need so that you are not searching for your favorite type when you could be sightseeing.
